So…House of Sound is a free-form radio station in Portland. Here you can listen to the sweet sounds of Portland’s own DJ HWY 7 and The GhostTrain on Facing the Music on Mondays from 6-8. It so happens that the HoS will be holding a fundraiser at the Fez tomorrow (7/6/11) featuring all local radness. Thee Headliners, The Needful Longings*and Welcome Home Walker. DJ HWY 7 will also be there providing some sweet sounds to seduce your earballs…so, you know what that means? I’ll be there. Dancing, drinking and then dancing some more! 

*The Needful Longings are Sean Croghan (Crackerbash, Jr. High), Chris Slusarenko (Guided By Voices, Boston Spaceships), Jim Talstra (The Dharma Bums, Maroons) and Paulie Pulverenti (Jr. High, Elliott Smith).

This weekend is Slabtowns annual Bender. Kick it off Friday where a good source aka Patrick/Petey/PeteyJCool whispered in my ear that Friday will (most likely) be Pure Country Golds last show. Like, EVER. If you haven’t seen them, I urge you to get a little taste of 2 of Portland’s finest. Please let Jake drum your face off while you dance sweet nothings around Slabtowns grimy floors with Petey’s magic guitar y vocals. And if that’s not enough to get you out? Mean Jeans, The Tranzmitors + many more will also be gracing us w/their presents and/or presence!

Ah. I’ve been in the hospital and bedridden for the last month and can’t wait to see and hear some music. I feel so outta the loop! And although I can never see shit at East End, I plan to dance my face off at this show. And maybe get drunk.
